Our Lady's College

At the beginning of the school year, the Student Leadership Development Team organized a Sustainable Leadership Challenge Camp for student leaders. This included Leadership Potential Test, 2030 SDGs Simulated Experience, Court Adventure and Mock Youth International Conference. During the camp, student leaders grasped the concepts and key points of team success while learning the importance of collaboration, problem-solving, and communication. They also gained knowledge about global issues, developed public speaking and negotiation skills, and cultivated respect for different cultures, aiming to become informed and responsible global citizens.

The Inauguration Ceremony of the Student Leaders marks an important moment to kick off the new school year, symbolizing the beginning of a new mission for the student leaders. Prefects, big sisters, members of the student association, and the committees of four houses gathered together, receiving their badges from the principal as a formal appointment. The student leaders fastened their badges and, in front of the principal, teachers, and classmates, took an oath to lead by example, become role models for their peers, and actively fulfill their duties with integrity, dedication, and respect in service of their fellow students.

The Gifted Education Team has been dedicated to organizing thematic workshops that emphasize both theory and practice, allowing student members to experience how knowledge originates from life. This activity enables students to learn about the concept of "qīng chū yú lán" (青出於藍) through thematic learning in Chinese, connecting it to chemistry knowledge, including the chemical components of dyes and the oxidation process. Furthermore, it starts from visual arts creation, helping students understand the relationship between the creation of blue dye and their artistic work.

This year’s Student Association election has been successfully completed with two candidates' cabinets: "Genesis” and “Courage”. In the first month of the school year, both candidates actively promoted their campaigns which included publishing and promoting manifestos by display boards, posters, and making announcements during morning assemblies. Ultimately, the new Student Association chairlady was elected by the entire student body through a one-person-one-vote system.

The cultural exchange program between OLC and Salesio Girls' Middle School fosters global understanding through shared experiences, music, and dialogue. Students engage in collaborative projects, enhancing cultural awareness and building lasting friendships across diverse backgrounds.
