The book teaches us some simple, safe experiments which we can do at home. It is divided into three main parts: ¡§Flight and floating¡¨, ¡§Chemistry experiments¡¨ and ¡§Fun with electronics¡¨. The experiments are so easy to do that even small kids can do by themselves at home. The theories taught are being well explained.
In the first part "Flight and floating", you can learn to make parachutes, helicopters and gilders, etc. I find the glider quite interesting. Glider is something like a paper airplane. Children usually can only make paper airplanes flying in the air for just a few seconds, but a superglider can fly for a much longer time. An experiment was done by a scientist who dropped some gliders from a flying balloon. Often he could see them circling below for 20 minutes before they disappeared from sight.
The glider can fly for such a long time is due to its special design. When it flies, pressure on its upper side is lower than that on its lower side, so the glider is being lifted up. Also, the elevators in the tail help to lower the glider's upper side's pressure
